Did you know 93% of New Year’s Resolutions are related to Health & Fitness? Are you setting a New Years Resolution goal for better Health & Fitness? These strategies I share with you below will help you stay on track and achieve your goals, if you implement them! 

Another statistic for you, 73% of people who set out on their New Year’s Resolutions give up prior to reaching their goals. Only 8% actually complete their New Years Resolutions! 

However, you can be part of the 8% whose lives are improved because they decided to start on a positive new path. Even if you’ve tried and failed before, 2017 can be the year that you make your Fitness & Health goals successful!

I have 5 proven Warrior strategies to help you achieve your Health & Fitness Resolutions and prepare you for your best life yet:

1. Write It Down

Take a moment to sit down and write out the goals you would like to achieve. Choose goals that are achievable to your deadline. Often times I see goals that are to lose 40-50lbs in 2 months. This isn’t a realistic goal. You are going to need time to achieve your goals and you will need to see the little successes to keep you going.

Once you have decided on your goals, write out WHY they are important to you. Then ask yourself WHY a second time and write it down.

Next step, write out how you will achieve these goals.
Example: Going to the gym 3 days a week. Waking the dog each morning. Cutting out junk food. Cutting out fast food.

2.  Take Action

Now you have your goals set, its time to take action. I can pretty much say you already know what you need to do. You know you need to get some form of exercise in each day. You know which foods you shouldn’t be eating. You know which foods are “Healthy” to eat. You know you need to get 7-8hrs of sleep each night. You know how important drinking water is for your body.

The key is Consistency. You need to do what you know consistently.

3.  Find A Group That Supports you

You will be faced with multiple obstacles on your journey. Many excuses will begin to arise, if your WHY is strong enough you will find a way to stay on track! Having a Role Model/A Coach will hold you accountable each day. Having a group of others that are on the same path as you will keep you accountable, not to mention it is more fun! You don’t need to look any further than the members here at TFW Pittsburgh. This close group of Warriors represents the best examples of setting personal goals and achieving them. Every day you train you’ll experience a unique relationship with others of all ages and abilities.

4.  Recruit a Friend

Sometimes it’s difficult to keep up the motivation for your New Year’s Resolutions but recruiting a friend makes the challenge less daunting.

When you hold each other accountable you share some of that motivational energy and actually produce more of it. Commit to exercising or explore new healthy meals together and you’ll bring a positive vibe into your lifestyle changes.


5.  Get Your Mind Right

Your mindset has a huge impact on you achieving your goals. Do you have a positive mindset or do you question if you will even be able to achieve your goals?

Change the way you think.

Change your I Can’t – to I Can. Believe you can and you are on your way.
